Understanding the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon Using NLP

Challenge Started!

This Omdena Local Chapter Challenge runs for 4 weeks and is a unique experience to try and grow your skills in a collaborative and safe environment with a diverse mix of people from all over the world.

You will work on solving a local problem, initiated by the Omdena Cameroon Chapter.

The problem

Studies were conducted in the hope of better understanding the problem in order to find a solution as soon as possible. There has also been a call for dialogue and improvement. Therefore, we would like to analyze the conversations about this crisis on the Internet to find out what they will reveal to us.

The goals

Collect online data on the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon.

Create a knowledge graph of conversations about the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon.

Create a list of the most important keywords in these conversations and the parties involved in the form of a “Who is talking” to identify those involved in the conversations.

Understand what networks exist in the data and finally map the parties involved in the conversations. Identify the communities formed and dynamically visualize their evolution.
