The problem

This project addresses the critical challenge of static pricing models in e-commerce, which fail to accommodate the dynamic nature of consumer behavior and the cultural practice of haggling. In traditional e-commerce settings, fixed prices limit personalized shopping experiences and diminish consumers’ perceived purchasing power, especially in regions where negotiation is an integral part of the buying process. This rigidity can lead to customer dissatisfaction and missed sales opportunities for merchants who struggle to balance competitive pricing with profitability. Furthermore, e-commerce platforms that lack a mechanism for price negotiation may find themselves at a competitive disadvantage, contributing to market inefficiencies where product prices do not accurately reflect consumer valuation. 

The project aims to tackle these issues by developing an AI-driven haggling system integrated with platforms like Shopify. This system is designed to analyze offers and negotiate prices within predefined margins, offering a more personalized and engaging shopping experience. By enabling dynamic pricing, the initiative seeks to enhance customer satisfaction, increase merchants’ sales opportunities, and introduce a level of market efficiency that reflects the true value of products as perceived by consumers. 

The ultimate goal is to transform e-commerce transactions into interactive experiences that benefit both consumers and merchants, fostering a more vibrant and responsive online marketplace.

The project goals

The primary objective of this six-week sprint is to develop and present a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that effectively demonstrates the capabilities of our innovative solution. This initial phase is crucial for securing the support necessary for further development and refinement. The sprint will focus on two main areas:

• Development of the Haggle Feature (Chatbot): Our efforts will be dedicated to the creation and enhancement of an AI-driven haggling system. This task encompasses the design of sophisticated algorithms, thorough data analysis, and the fine-tuning of the system to ensure it can negotiate prices within predefined margins with high efficiency. The development process is aimed at establishing a robust foundation for the haggling feature, ensuring it meets our standards for effectiveness and reliability.
• Integration with Shopify: A significant part of the sprint will involve integrating the Haggle service with the Shopify e-commerce platform. This step is designed to not only showcase the haggling system’s functionality but also to demonstrate its compatibility and performance within an existing, widely-used e-commerce framework. This integration is key to illustrating the practical application and potential impact of our service in a real-world setting.

By concentrating on these areas, the sprint aims to deliver a functional and compelling MVP that highlights the unique value proposition of our AI-driven haggling system to investors, setting the stage for subsequent iterations that will further refine and optimize the platform.
