The problem

This project is trying to address the challenge of understanding the needs and intents of the users who contact the Voices of Venezuela helpline. To accomplish this, we plan to use both internal and external data sources to gain insights into the issues and concerns of the helpline users. In this project, the team will use machine learning techniques to analyze the data and identify patterns and trends in the users’ behavior and communication. Machine learning can help identify the most common issues and topics that the helpline users are contacting them about and provide a better understanding of the reasons behind those issues. Finally, visualization of insights gained from the analysis on a live updating dashboard will be done. This will allow the team to monitor changes in the users’ needs and intents over time, providing a more accurate picture of the issues that the helpline users are facing. By gaining a deeper understanding of the needs and intents of the helpline users, the team can provide more effective support and assistance to them. They can also use the insights gained from the analysis to make improvements to the helpline service and to develop new programs or initiatives to address the issues faced by the helpline users.

The project goals

Art for Impact has an existing helpline. This project would focus on analyzing internal and external data. The main project goals would be:

  • Data collection and annotation
  • The NLP model should predict the user intent, given a user message
  • Visualize the hot zones (by location & time) according to needs and quantify the impact
  • Deployment of dashboard pulling live data from the helpline

**More details will be shared once the project is started.
