Our aim is to create carbon-positive farming methods that not only restore ecosystems but also capture significant amounts of carbon in the soil.

The challenge was to track how soil organic carbon levels changed over time with different regenerative farming practices. Omdena’s global team of AI engineers used machine learning models to analyze vast amounts of soil data from farms practicing regenerative agriculture. By developing predictive models, they were able to measure the impact of practices like crop rotation, cover cropping, and reduced tillage on SOC levels.

Through this collaboration, Omdena’s engineering team applied machine learning models to analyze and predict the water retention capacity of soils that had been treated with natural fertilizers, such as compost and animal manure. By combining data on soil composition, crop types, and weather conditions, the AI models helped identify key factors influencing water retention.
