Project background.

Water is a primary natural resource which is necessary for different objectives such as Forestry, Agriculture, Urbanization and other day to day demands as required for human needs. Adequate supply of pure water is a basic need for all humans yet it has been observed that millions people worldwide are deprived of this. This project is inspired by the water body reduction in the state, because of mismanaged Urbanization. This project will be an approach to solving the encroachment issues thereby addressing Urbanization Issues.

The problem.

River Encroachment is the most Serious problem that has been going on and that will be serious issues such as flooding and shortage of water which has been used for Water Struggle.It will cause loss of lives and properties in the state, it is therefore important for this problem to be addressed to reduce damages and impact.The project emphasises to find the waterbody encroachment of Chennai District using Supervised and Computer Vision Techniques.

Project goals.

1. Collect open-source satellite images of specific rivers in Chennai 2. Developing Water Based Indices 3. Develop an automatic encroachment detection for certain rivers with machine learning 4. Deployment using Streamlit
