Yes, we can build a better future with Artificial Intelligence – But only if we have more female leadership.
We sat together with five Women in AI who are doing inspiring work and talked about why we need more women in leadership roles, how to empower more women to join the field, and lastly what learnings and insights all five want to share with aspiring female AI engineers. Enjoy!
The panelists:
- Yemissi B. Kifouly, Udactiy Mentor
- Kulsoom Abdullah, Data Science Consultant
- Ecem Yılmazhaliloğlu, President of Technoladies
- Rebeca Moreno Jiménez, UNHCR Innovation Officer
- Sofia Kyriazi, UNHCR AI Engineer
This was a really great and interesting webinar, and all the women had excellent points and made them really well. But it was interesting that a lot of times, all the women ended their contribution with phrases such as ‘that’s just what I think’ or ‘that’s just what I wanted to say’, in apologetic tones. I think this just goes to show another way that this unconscious bias and the toxic environment that women in tech face day-to-day has an impact on all of us, that even these awesome women talking about their own experiences feel the need to do this probably without even thinking about it.
Thanks for the commet, Li 🙂
