Palo Alto, May 19th, 2020 – Palo Alto-based startup, Omdena runs collaborative AI projects in which global teams of 40 or more data scientists and experts build AI solutions to address significant real-world problems. To date, more than 1,000 people from 80 countries have participated in Omdena’s challenges. Founded by AI mentor and entrepreneur Rudradeb Mitra in 2019, Omdena is planning to enter a path of steady growth with Jake’s help.

In the last year, Omdena has seen tremendous growth: We have collaborated with leading organizations like UNHCR, World Food Program, World Resource Institute, World Energy Council, and many other organizations from around the world. With the addition of Jake to our leadership team, we hope to take on even more challenges in the years ahead,” said Rudradeb Mitra, the founder of Omdena.

I couldn’t be more excited to have this opportunity to contribute to Omdena’s success,” said Jake Carey-Rand. “The impact this incredibly talented and diverse team of changemakers is already having, solving some of the world’s toughest challenges, is hugely inspiring. I have previously contributed to projects, which prevent deforestation and better meet refugee needs by predicting their movements, and it has been a longtime vision to dedicate my career to furthering AI for Good.”

Omdena is also announcing today the launch of the Omdena Enterprise Platform (OEP), under Carey-Rand’s leadership. “Omdena believes all future organizations will be data science organizations,” said Mitra. “But the reality today is that 87% of all AI projects fail to deliver concrete value to the organization. Omdena is perfectly positioned to deliver business transformation through collaborative AI.” Launched on May 19th, 2020 in private preview, the Omdena Enterprise Platform provides organizations with a blueprint for collaborative AI success, enabling transformation to a data-science-first approach. “I believe we are at a turning point,” Carey-Rand said. “The COVID pandemic is a catalyst forcing all of us to adapt. We are excited to now have the opportunity to extend the power of the Omdena Platform to businesses while continuing to scale our social impact initiatives around the world.” Omdena invites organizations interested in developing a broader data science capability to enroll their interest in the Omdena Enterprise Platform Private Preview.
